This is not a story you have heard many times before. And this is not what the old storyteller Perrault or Mr. Walt Disney told. In the fairy tale that we (Triomphe de l’Art company) tell you, there is no glass slipper, no good fairy, and no wicked stepmother. But there is a good prince, two silly sisters and, of course, the sweet Cinderella herself. That means there is unmasked vanity, overwhelming love and, of course, magic. This magic is in Rossini’s music, in his subtle musical humor that underlines the true values of life and the triumph of love.
